Roger Prick: Sexopolis — Woke-Washed, Washed-Up and Wonderfully Vile

Roger Prick: Sexopolis is exactly what it says on the tin: filthy, pun-heavy and proudly ridiculous.
Roger is a 1970s porn star attempting to retell his life story through the supposedly enlightened lens of 2026. Imagine a deeply misogynistic man who has been aggressively woke-washed and now considers himself something of a feminist icon. The joke, of course, is that Roger remains about as vile as you can imagine.
He has the energy of that streaker in a trench coat you definitely don’t want to encounter in a dark park, crossed with the drunk uncle at a wedding whose hug you’ve been strategically avoiding all night. That uncomfortable presence is part of the fun, and the character commits completely to making the audience squirm.
The show takes us through sex, attitudes and social change from the 1970s to 2026, using Roger’s questionable history to hold up a surprisingly effective mirror to how differently we talk about and treat people today. Beneath all the stupidity, there’s a clever premise at work.
There are 1970s sex jokes and puns galore, some delightfully stupid book puns and a few particularly golden (shower) moments. The script is okay, but there are bumps and glitches along the way, and some tightening would help the concept land more consistently.
Ultimately, this is silly, dumb Fringe fun with something smarter lurking underneath its dirty trench coat. You get exactly what’s advertised, no more, no less.
Go and witness Roger Prick: porn star, reformed man and, according to Roger at least, the feminist icon 2026 never knew it needed.
